Privacy Policy

What we process

SaveThisIG only processes the Instagram link you paste. The link is sent to our backend, which passes it to a server-side extraction provider to look up publicly accessible media. We never ask for, collect, or store your Instagram password or login credentials, and we cannot access private accounts because we only handle content that is publicly available. Our own servers never handle user credentials; an optional server-side cookie file, held only if we configure one and never exposed to the browser, may be used by our own infrastructure to read public posts.

Contact messages

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you type, plus an Instagram link if you choose to include one. We use this information only to respond to you. Messages are stored in our application database so our support team can review them, and are delivered to our support inbox through the server's local mail delivery system. Stored messages can only be accessed by the site's administrators.

Media handled server-side

Downloads are streamed through our servers so that we can verify and proxy only media from Instagram's allowed content hosts. We do not store downloaded media permanently.

Logging and request IDs

Our servers log limited, technical information needed to operate and debug the service: a per-request identifier, request type, detected content type, which provider served the request, provider success or failure, response duration, and the error category. Links are logged in normalized form. We do not log cookies, download tokens, API keys, or other secrets. Logs are not exposed to other users.

Rate limiting and temporary caching

To keep the service available to everyone, extraction and download requests are rate-limited per visitor. Extraction metadata may be cached in memory for a short time (around 30 seconds) so a repeated request can be served quickly. This cache is temporary and is not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies

SaveThisIG does not ask for your name, email address, or any Instagram login in order to use the downloader, and we do not build an advertising profile of you ourselves. Where analytics is enabled, Google Analytics 4 may set a first-party cookie to measure aggregate page views on this site. This website itself may use functional storage for normal browser operation. When advertising is served, advertising cookies and similar technologies may also be placed on your browser by Google — see the Advertising section below.

Third-party services

To fetch and stream media, our server connects to the third-party services and content hosts that we are configured to use, including Instagram's content distribution servers. Contact messages are delivered through the email service we configure on the server. When advertising is served, Google acts as an advertising partner and may receive information about your visit as described in the Advertising section below.

Security practices

Connections to our site are encrypted with TLS. Download links are signed with a short-lived token, and extraction, download and contact endpoints are rate-limited. Credentials used for email delivery and extraction are kept on the server and are never exposed to the browser.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses and similar technologies to collect and use information as a result of ad serving on this site. Google describes how it uses data from partner sites and apps in How Google uses data from partner sites, and its general practices in the Google Privacy Policy.

Depending on your consent choices and the settings that apply in your region, you may receive either personalized advertising — where ads are chosen using information about you and your activity — or non-personalized advertising. You can review and change your ad personalization settings on Google's Ads Settings page.

In regions where consent is required, we present Google's certified consent mechanism, and ads are served without personalized selection unless you have consented. We do not control which specific ads Google or its partners choose to display, and we do not receive personal information about individual visitors from Google.
