What you get after downloading

• One file per carousel item, each the original as Instagram currently serves it. Images keep their dimensions; videos keep their own resolution and duration.
• Because items come from the same post, they usually share similar characteristics, but they are not guaranteed to be identical in size, format or duration.
• Each extension follows the format of that specific item — an image and a video in one carousel produce different file types.
• Filenames are derived from the post and kept distinct per item, so saving all of them does not produce a folder of identical names.
• Items are downloaded individually. There is no bundled archive, and no claim that every item of a carousel can be saved at once.

Why a download can fail

The post is private or login-only.

Only public posts are read. Check the post in a signed-out private window — if it does not load, no tool can reach it.

You expected a single file but the post has several items.

That is not a failure. A carousel always returns its items separately; press Download on each one you want.

One particular item did not appear.

Some items cannot always be retrieved even when the post is public. The items that are available are still shown, so save those first and try the post again later for the rest.

The post was deleted or archived by the creator.

The carousel no longer exists for anyone. Only the creator can supply it again.

Instagram is temporarily limiting how often this post can be requested.

Wait about a minute and try again. Carousels can need more than one request, so retries are normal here.

The link points at a profile or a Reel instead of the post.

Copy the address from the individual carousel post. A /p/… link is required; /reel/… and bare usernames will not work.

Troubleshooting

• Count the media items in the post in the app first. That number tells you how many results to expect.
• Open the post while signed out to confirm it is public before investigating anything else.
• If one item is missing, download what is shown and retry the same post a few minutes later — individual items are the part most likely to need a second try.
• Check the link shape. A carousel is a post, so it uses instagram.com/p/… exactly like a single photo.
• Pause about a minute between batches of attempts if several downloads fail consecutively, so the temporary request limit can clear.
• Do not expect a single combined file. If you need one video from the whole set, that has to be assembled separately; this tool returns the original items only.
