What you can download

• Publicly accessible video posts with individual links of the form instagram.com/p/…, including the legacy instagram.com/tv/… path.
• Videos in any orientation the creator chose — horizontal, vertical or square — because the file is delivered exactly as posted.
• Videos with or without audio; the audio stays attached to the file as Instagram serves it.
• Links taken from a post's share sheet, from the browser address bar, or from a public embed.
• One video per download: a single video post produces a single file.

What you get after downloading

• The video file Instagram currently serves for that post. We do not transcode, compress, upscale or add a watermark.
• Dimensions, bitrate, duration and file size vary from post to post and follow the original upload. There is no quality selector, because there is only ever one real version available.
• The file extension matches the container Instagram uses, normally MP4 for posts. The filename is derived from the post so you can identify it later.
• If a particular post is served in a different container, the downloaded file follows that container rather than a fixed rule on our side.
• Downloading hands you the file only; nothing is posted, edited or credited back to the original account.

Why a download can fail

The account is private or the post is login-only.

Only public content can be read, and this is not something the tool can bypass. Open the post while signed out to confirm before concluding anything is broken.

The post was deleted or the creator made it private again.

Content that is no longer public cannot be downloaded by anyone. If you need it, ask the creator for a copy.

The link points at a profile, a Reel or a Story instead of a post.

Check the address. A video post is /p/… or /tv/…; /reel/… belongs to the Reels downloader, /stories/… to the Story downloader, and a bare username is not a post at all.

Instagram is temporarily limiting requests.

Wait about a minute and paste the link again. The pause is short and clears on its own.

The media link has expired.

Open the post again in Instagram to obtain a fresh link. Links saved days earlier are the usual cause here.

Instagram is slow to respond, or the download service was briefly unavailable.

Retry the same link once; transient failures normally succeed on the second try.

Troubleshooting

• Test the link while signed out in a private window. If the video does not play there, it is not public and cannot be downloaded.
• Verify the link shape. Video posts are /p/… or /tv/…; a /reel/… link belongs to a different tool, and a carousel post belongs to the carousel downloader.
• Check whether the post still exists in the Instagram app. Removed posts cannot be recovered by any tool.
• Retry a single time before troubleshooting further — many errors are momentary rather than permanent.
• If several attempts fail in a row, wait roughly a minute to let the temporary request limit expire.
• Avoid re-typing links on a phone. Use copy and paste so a single mistyped character does not produce a link that looks correct but resolves to nothing.
